CfP: The Power(s) of Love in Africa / closed
Topic: The Power(s) of Love. New insights on intimacy in Africa.
Taking place in Stone Town, Zanzibar (Tanzania) on 10-12 December 2019, this international workshop will bring together some of the authors from the groundbreaking volume Love in Africa (Chicago, 2009, co-edited by Jennifer Cole and Lynn M. Thomas), with a new generation of researchers in order to revisit the question of love and intimacy in Africa.
It will involve the presentation and discussion of academic works, round tables, the screening of films and artistic performances.
Please note that the working language of the conference will be English and all papers should be in English.
Deadlines: Abstracts are due by June 20, 2019 latest; papers are expected no later than December 1, 2019.
